The Cloud technology that enables Econet communication over the Internet also allows us to keep track of how many machines were connected at any particular moment in time. In recent years, we've used this to record the peak number of machines, and their type. At earlier events, we used the RISC OS application !Machines to track this metric. The original unpatched !Machines did not show bridges and rather aggressively scans local and remote Econet networks, which was detrimental to performance for everyone using those networks. For these reasons we prefer attendees not to use !Machines and instead to refer to the stats page on the EcoFAX carousel shown live at the events instead.
